International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month offer an annual opportunity for celebrating the achievements of women around the world. This year’s theme, #BreaktheBias, invites us all to understand the impact we can have by breaking the gender bias in our communities, schools and workplaces.
The company worked on 20 solar projects in 2021, ranging from a relatively modest 36-kilowatt peak (kWp) array that was phase 2 of a project at the Cummins Generator Technologies facility in Ahmednagar, India, to a 1,472 kWp installation atop the new U.K. Logistics Center in Daventry, United Kingdom, to a 3,600 kWp array at the Rocky Mount Engine Plant in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

The transportation sector emits five million metric tons of CO2 a day in the U.S. This is about 36 pounds of carbon every day for each person in the U.S.

Global power leader Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) introduces a new rating for its QSC8.3 propulsion engine, expanding the keel cooled solution to 600 horsepower with an engine speed of 2800 rpm. This addition to the QSC8.3 power range means Cummins now offers 493 horsepower - 600 horsepower (368-441 kW) for both keel cooled and heat exchanger solutions.
Cummins is the first engine manufacturer to bring this power dense rating with a keel cooling option to market.
Today, internal combustion engines have economies of scale due to their popularity across trucks, buses, construction, and agriculture equipment. As these engines start to use low to zero carbon fuels, they can reduce emissions while also taking advantage of their existing scale.
This combination of economies of scale and reduced emissions help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and fleets in their journey towards destination zero. Let’s start with the economic benefits of economies of scale.

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) today announced it will open a new Powertrain Test Facility at the Darlington, U.K. campus to help accelerate the move towards cleaner, next generation power technologies focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality. Ground preparation work for the new facility is now underway with the first phase of the £14 million investment expected to open for operations by May 2023.
