Today, Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced a four-month pilot project in Indiana to evaluate an on-demand transit solution, in partnership with Purdue University and Energy Systems Network (ESN). The pilot begins September 30.

Kigali Arena, the largest sports stadium in eastern Africa, is now open. Located just outside the Amahoro National Stadium in Remera, Rwanda, the 10,000-seat facility was inaugurated in August by Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

The 2019 index, based primarily on 2018 data, reviews a company’s economic, environmental and social performance across more than 20 different categories, ranging from codes of conduct to environmental reporting and occupational health and safety.

The award was presented Wednesday (Sept. 18) by Indiana Department of Environmental Management Commissioner Bruno Pigott on behalf of Gov. Eric Holcomb. Brian Mormino, Executive Director – World Wide Environmental Strategy & Compliance at Cummins, accepted the award on behalf of the company and its partners at Meadow Lake VI in northwest Indiana.

A new condominium adjacent to Iqra University in Karachi, Pakistan, Diamond Residency is one of a series of Diamond-named projects in development to keep pace with a growing urban population and infrastructure. The builder turned to Cummins authorized distributor Orient Energy Systems for a dependable backup power system. OES installed the power system in the form of 2 x Cummins C220D5 generator sets and 3 x Cummins C55D5 generator sets for a total of 550 kVA to back up the main utility.

Boats have existed in one form or another since pre-historic times, and they've seen their share of innovations come and go. Some innovations such as ice sailboats, built in the 1790s and designed to transport goods over frozen lakes and rivers, stayed at the fringes without too much surprise. Meanwhile, innovations such as outboard engines have expanded their fan base since Gustave Trouve built the first one in 1880s.    

The L9N, considered one of the world’s cleanest internal combustion engines, can significantly reduce particulate matter (PM), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and greenhouse gases (GHGs). The 320-horsepower engine is powering a bus through Santiago, Chile’s capital city, on a  test basis.
