Blair Claflin is the Director of Sustainability Communications for Cummins Inc. Blair joined the Company in 2008 as the Diversity Communications Director. Blair comes from a newspaper background. He worked previously for the Indianapolis Star (2002-2008) and for the Des Moines Register (1997-2002) prior to that.

The company’s new report has much to say on reducing carbon, addressing racial and gender equity, and responding to a variety of other challenges, ranging from cybersecurity threats to the demands on supply chains in a pandemic.

  Cummins is embracing the opportunity to be part of the solution addressing climate change by pursuing reductions in greenhouse gases (GHGs) from both the company’s internal combustion engines and new technologies.

This goal is focused on waste minimization through material efficiency, the company’s biggest water and waste footprint in the value chain.

While every patent starts with an innovative idea, Cummins leaders say many factors go into the granting of a global patent.

The company was also named to a leading financial publication’s list of the 100 Most Sustainable U.

Across the company, employees are working to be better stewards of this increasingly important resource.

The company worked on 20 solar projects in 2021, ranging from a relatively modest 36-kilowatt peak (kWp) array that was phase 2 of a project at the Cummins Generator Technologies facility in Ahmednagar, India, to a 1,472 kWp installation atop the new U.

“My view is we’re out of time to protect our climate and we’re out of time to make sure that American companies are the ones that lead the world in these technologies,” Linebarger told President Biden.

The new rankings follow Cummins’ return to the S&P Dow Jones 2021 World Sustainability Index and the company’s inclusion among the inaugural recipients of the Terra Carta Seal for sustainability leadership from the Prince of Wales, both announced in November.

The company was also named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America for a 16th consecutive year.
