Cummins has been chosen to provide black start capability to one of Peru’s most challenging and strategically important utility projects. Nodo Energético del Sur is a new power generation initiative serving the south of the country. Two massive plants, the first of them in the port city of Ilo, will bring electricity to the remote region faced with instability from the main utility. The Cummins generator sets will allow the plant to perform a black start – to start up independently from the national grid.

The largest data center in Turkey has opened, and with it comes the total reliability and dependability offered by Cummins. After an impactful witness test, Turkcell, the country’s leading mobile phone operator, placed an order the next day for 10 x Cummins C1675D5A high-horsepower generator sets for its new data center in Gebze, near Istanbul.

A business in a remote rural part of Andalusia, southern Spain has started using a Cummins generator set to power the transfer pumps, decanters, hoppers and presses it uses to turn the residue from olive oil production into a byproduct. Like the residue it comes from, the byproduct is called “orujo.” The making of the orujo oil has long been a regional tradition. The Lake Michigan Chapter of the 7x24 Exchange hosted an event on Dec. 7 at the Gibson Electric & Technology Solutions headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois (USA). Cummins Inc. announces the new RS125 and RS150 in the QuietConnect Series, now ranging from 13 kW up to 150 kW to back up homes and small businesses of various sizes and power requirements. The 125 kW and 150 kW models will be available in early January 2018, just in time for the winter storm season.
