Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced today that the company has been awarded $75 million to convert approximately 360,000 sq. ft. of existing manufacturing space at its Columbus (Indiana) Engine Plant (CEP) for zero-emissions components and electric powertrain systems. The $75 million grant is the largest federal grant ever awarded solely to Cummins and is part of the appropriations related to the Inflation Reduction Act.

Accelera™ by Cummins, the zero-emissions business segment of Cummins Inc. [NYSE: CMI], has supplied a 35-megawatt (MW) proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer system, its largest to date, to support hydrogen production at Linde’s facility in Niagara Falls, New York. Powered by renewable hydroelectric energy, the system will generate green hydrogen to help decarbonize industrial operations and accelerate the clean energy transition in the U.S.
