Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced today the appointment of four leaders to the role of vice president, effective March 1 – Ricardo Roman, Michelle Probst, Gbile Adewunmi and Matt McQueen – in addition to Ashwath Ram, who was appointed Vice President in January.
Clessie Cummins is known for improving existing diesel engines, creating new diesel engine designs, and setting world records for endurance and speed in trucks, buses and race cars. Perhaps not as well-known are his early endeavors in promoting the efficiency of diesel power in automotive applications.
Cummins is establishing new goals to address two of the Company’s biggest environmental opportunities, improved efficiency of our products in use and more efficient logistics within Cummins’ own operations.
The new goals are in addition to the goals the Company set publicly for waste, water and energy in 2014. Cummins’ Action Committee for Environmental Sustainability (ACES) has been working on the new goals for the past year, which are timed to 2020.
