From a young age, Alexis C. was drawn to the world of mechanics. “Growing up, I used to help out my dad in his trucking company. That is where my passion for fixing issues stems from.” This early exposure not only sparked a love for problem-solving but also instilled leadership skills. “He would even joke around calling me ‘boss man.’”
As extreme weather incidents increase, so do electrical failures. A recent report from Climate Central found that 83% of power outages were caused by weather-related events from 2000 to 2021. This includes wildfires, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, floods, and many other devastating conditions.
Tommy R., a Technician Apprentice Program (TAP) student at Cummins, is turning a lifelong passion for mechanics into a promising career. Since joining the company in 2022, he has brought a strong work ethic and a collaborative spirit to every project he’s part of.
Before coming to Cummins, Tommy built his mechanical skills through roles in appliance installation and automotive repair. His enthusiasm for working with his hands – especially on cars – naturally led him to the Cummins TAP program, where he’s found both challenge and opportunity.
Over the past four to five years, a lot has been written about the shift away from big-bore 15-liter engines to medium-bore (11-liter to 13-liter) engines. This was particularly true among truckers looking to minimize fuel costs.
New data shows that many of the industry's trend-setters have discovered the truth in the old saying, "there's no replacement for displacement." They've come to understand the benefits of new technology in the big-bore engines, and have been making the switch because it saves them money. The comeback has been dramatic.
Picture a future where building a zero-emissions vehicle feels as simple as snapping together LEGO bricks.
That’s the mindset Accelera by Cummins is bringing to clean energy, offering flexible solutions that meet customers wherever they are in their transition to smarter, cleaner power.
As the commercial vehicle industry moves toward more efficient, reliable, and flexible systems, Cummins is advancing fuel system design with the fuel-lubricated pump (FLP). This compact and modular solution is built for both on-highway and off-highway applications, reducing system complexity while maintaining high performance across a wide range of engine platforms and fuel types.

As the Middle East accelerates its shift toward cleaner energy through initiatives like the UAE Net Zero 2050 and Saudi Vision 2030, Cummins is stepping up with innovative Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) designed to support this transformation.
In the Cummins Arabia All Things Power Podcast, Lucio Kroll, Senior Director for New Energy Solutions at Cummins Power Generation, highlights how BESS is enabling greater renewable integration, reducing diesel reliance, and enhancing energy resilience—especially in high-temperature environments.
The first to market application of Cummins Valvetrain Technologies’ High Power Density® (HPD®) engine brake will be on Cummins’ new X10™ engine destined for heavy and medium-duty vehicles , serving vocational, regional haul or transit bus fleet customers.
The X10 engine is part of Cummins’ HELM™ fuel-agnostic engine lineup, where it replaces both the L9 and the X12 engines.
