Ignacio González, Executive Director – Powergen EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India & Africa
Ignacio Gonzalez (Nacho) joined Cummins in 2010, at a time in which DBU Europe was moving from a purely regional organization into a segments-driven regional approach, becoming the leader for DBU Europe Powergen business. At the end of 2013, the DBU and PGBU regional organizations merged into a single regional sales and project execution organization under Nacho’s leadership. In this ten years, this combined organization has moved from some 200M$ into a 500M$+ business in the region. In 2015, he moved into a wider Power Systems role including most industrial markets as well as joining the newly created European ABO leadership team. Defense, Marine and Rail were key segments of responsibility. As of April 2021, Nacho’s Powergen responsibilities were extended to include Industrial Power Product Line globally, a previous step toward Cummins going through a wide reorganization in 2023 in which the business was structured in three “super regions”. Since then he has led our Europe, Middle East, India and Africa Powergen business (EMEIA PG), including not only sales but all PG business associated areas (product management, engineering…), as well as strong connection to our super-regional operations. He is part of Cummins Global Powergen Leadership team. Nacho’s experience outside Cummins includes eight years at Deutz, the German engine company, leading their operation in Spain and Portugal, as well as four years in Italy leading the Powergen global business for Pramac, one of the leading G-OEMs at that time, now owned by Generac. The experience in Italy included responsibility over operations, which included five small-medium size factories in three continents. Nacho is a Naval Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and has an MBA from EAP-ESCP. Though his career has mainly been driven by sales and marketing related roles, he has accumulated wide experience in operations, a passion for someone with that engineering educational background. Since joining Cummins back from Italy, Nacho has lived with his family in the North of Madrid.
