Today global power and technology leader Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced an update to the legendary B-Series engine platform, unveiling the new Cummins B7.2 diesel engine at NTEA Work Truck Week in Indianapolis, IN.

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) today announced DNV Approval in Principle (AIP) for its methanol-ready QSK60 IMO II and IMO III engines, available from 2000 - 2700 hp (1491 - 2013 kW). Received in June 2024, the AIP validates Cummins retrofittable methanol dual-fuel solution for the global marine market, ensuring it meets the highest standards of safety and performance.
Today, Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI), and key technology partners have celebrated the completion of a joint project to develop hydrogen internal combustion engine technology for commercial vehicles.
Cummins led a consortium of technology companies; Johnson Matthey, PHINIA and Zircotec in ‘Project Brunel’, to successfully deliver a 6.7-litre hydrogen internal combustion engine (H2-ICE) for medium-duty trucks and buses. The project was match-funded by UK Government, and facilitated by the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC).
In addition to improved fuel economy and reduced emissions, Cummins Inc.’s 2027 X15 is also easier and less costly to maintain than prior heavy-duty diesel engines from the iconic engine manufacturer. As part of the Cummins HELM™ platform, engineers worked hard to offer innovative solutions to meet future regulations. Cummins achieved that while offering up to 7% improvement in fuel economy when utilizing Cummins’ fully optimized powertrain.
The company boasts not only emissions and fuel economy improvements with the 2027 X15 but also an overall drop in maintenance costs.
Today, Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced its most efficient heavy-duty diesel engine ever is on display at American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition (TMC), March 10-13 in Booth 947 at Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee (U.S.). The X15 diesel engine serves the heavy-duty on-highway market in North America.
