Today Cummins Inc. (NYSE:CMI) announced the production of the two millionth engine at its Jamestown Engine Plant (JEP) in Jamestown, New York. JEP remains one of the company’s largest manufacturing facilities; it accounted for 14.7 percent of Cummins total engine production in 2017.

Second quarter revenues of $6.1 billion increased 21 percent from the same quarter in 2017 and reached a new quarterly record. The Company delivered growth in most major markets as demand for trucks, construction, mining and power generation equipment all improved. Currency favorably impacted revenues by 1 percent.
Sales in North America improved by 22 percent while international revenues increased by 18 percent led by growth in China, Europe and Latin America.

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) is returning to motorsports with Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), the championship-winning NASCAR team.
Cummins will debut on the No. 14 Ford Fusion of driver Clint Bowyer in the Aug. 18 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and the Sept. 9 race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, sharing the primary sponsorship with Rush Truck Centers, the premier solutions provider for the commercial vehicle industry. Cummins will return to the No. 14 Ford for the Oct. 14 race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.
The Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) is the largest summer engineering program geared toward African-American and other underrepresented elementary school youth in the U.S. The three-week program is wrapping up its 12th year, and with Cummins support the program recently completed its first summer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. SEEK gives elementary aged students the opportunity to learn and experience science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through weekly competitive projects, and guidance from NSBE mentors and Cummins volunteers.
Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) today announced that it has entered into an accelerated share repurchase (ASR) agreement with Goldman, Sachs & Co. LLC (GS&Co.) to repurchase $500 million of Cummins’ common stock. Today’s ASR is part of Cummins’ previously announced share repurchase plans authorized by the Board of Directors and is consistent with the company’s plans to return 75 percent of Operating Cash Flow to shareholders in 2018.
The first turbine towers and blades are beginning to go up some 500 feet into the air, although the potential for storms and windy conditions precluded any lifting Tuesday by the two giant cranes on the construction site. Cummins is supporting the wind farm expansion as part of its goal to encourage the development of low carbon energy.
