The smiles are hard to miss as dozens of men, women and children pull a rope up a long and rocky road. What’s easier to miss is at the end of the rope. There, a large, green generator set slowly makes its way from the back of the video frame to the foreground, its handlers waving to the crowd while pushing the unit along. A new video published on the Cummins YouTube channel shows how hundreds of residents of a remote village in the Amazon came together to push and pull the generator to its new home.

In April 2017, a data center tour organized by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) was held in San Francisco, California. Policymakers, engineers from leading design institutes, industry experts and key customers from China joined the tour. As one of the co-sponsors of the event, Cummins hosted a half-day Power Seminar, leading a highly interactive discussion on Uptime Institute Tier requirements and power system design trends that improve power usage effectiveness and energy efficiency.

Last month, Cummins had a special opportunity to host a Chinese State Grid delegation at its generator set manufacturing plant in Fridley, Minnesota. The half-day program gave the Chinese delegates a first-hand look at Cummins' product capability and reliability in the microgrid and DECHP market and expertise in power generation technology. In recent years, China’s National Energy Administration has been working to diversify its energy structure and develop distributed generation to improve grid efficiencies and reliabilities.

The new headquarters of the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance – Jordan’s largest bank branch network – has lifted the city’s skyline with a high-tech, green design. It’s among several buildings in Amman created under the current sustainable design guidelines. One aspect of the design is landscaping that conserves water and energy, shading the building from the sun. The seven-story, 76,000 m2 headquarters can house up to 1,200 employees and includes an office tower, new prototype for future retail branch locations and below-grade parking.

Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI) opened its 10th plant in Turkey, with an annual capacity of 220 million liters and employment to about 300 people. The facility in the southern province of Isparta has two lines for producing iced tea, juice and sparkling products in can and PET packages. The fifth-largest bottler in the Coca-Cola System, CCI opened its first Coca-Cola factory in Turkey in 1964, and now employs more than 10,000 people in 25 plants.

Africa Energy Forum is where Africa’s public sector comes to meet the world’s best solution providers. Held June 7th to 9th in Copenhagen, Denmark, Cummins was among the delegation, represented by Abdou Sow, Power Generation Leader - Cummins Afrique de l'Ouest and Adam Ashcroft, Director - Components - Power Generation (pictured left).

In May 2017, Cummins and The Olayan Group launched Cummins Arabia, a 50:50, three-country distribution joint venture company in the Middle East.

The innovate Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility in suburban Phoenix, Arizona was named Arizona Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Year for two consecutive years, in 2010 and 2011. Built in 1985 in the Phoenix suburb of Chandler, it was one of the largest in Arizona at that time. It has been widely acclaimed as a model facility for recycling all its treated water, for industrial use by Intel or agricultural use by the adjacent Gila River Indian Reservation.
