One month into summer 2019, and the mercury is rising. A heat wave will impact half of the U.S. over the coming week with temperatures in the 3-digits in some parts of the country. Heat waves of this magnitude are not just an inconvenience, they can be dangerous, even life-threatening, if proper precautions aren’t taken. There were 108 heat-related fatalities in 2018 according to NOAA. Of all natural disasters, heat holds the highest 10-yr average of fatalities with 101.

When it comes to actual damage, two elements cause the most--water from storm surge or relentless rains and wind. Secondary to wind and water are the destruction both leave behind. Power outages. Flooding. Building destruction.

Update (August 1, 2017): Cummins and power management company Eaton (NYSE: ETN) have successfully completed the formation of the Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies joint venture that was announced on April 10, 2017. COLUMBUS, Ind. & DUBLIN - Power management company Eaton (ETN) and global power leader Cummins Inc. (CMI) today announced an agreement to form a joint venture for automated transmissions for heavy-duty and medium-duty commercial vehicles. The joint venture will be named Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies.

CUMMINS HAS ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT THAT WILL HELP A NORTHWEST INDIANA (U.S.A) WIND FARM EXPAND, PRODUCING LOW-CARBON POWER FOR THE GRID EQUAL TO THE AMOUNT OF ELECTRICITY THE COMPANY USES AT ALL OF ITS INDIANA FACILITIES.

For most of its life, the fire engine belonged to the town of Stamford in the U.K. and was based at the local fire station. After falling into disrepair, mechanics made several failed attempts to restore the historic piece.
