Due to its secluded nature, his residence has limited access to public services other than electricity and cellular. Actual savings from closed Six Sigma projects are running significantly ahead of historical targets through the second quarter of the year. Savings, including cost and cost avoidance, for 2020 totaled $304 million through June, $126 million over the targeted savings of $178 million. That’s a difference of about 70%. A couple from Seattle, Washington (USA) spent the first half of 2020 refitting their new Hampton 490 Pilothouse power boat. When Clark University in Massachusetts, U.S.A. needed to replace its aging generator to power and heat the campus in a cogeneration application, it not only got an upgrade in efficiency and power density, but the excess power produced by the QSV91G gas generator unit is exported to the National Grid, offering significant cost savings. 

Today’s cities are rapidly changing as they race to decarbonize. So, how does this impact the construction industry? According to the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), 11% of the world’s carbon emissions come from the construction industry; producing the materials and constructing the buildings. The WorldGBC issued a vision in September 2019, outlining how these carbon emissions could be reduced 40% by 2030 through many collaborative actions, including ambitious public procurement policies and clean and lean construction processes. 

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) today announced the company has received two awards from the U.S. DOE’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) totaling nearly $7 million. The awards are for Cummins’ continued work on enhancing economic viability of fuel cell powertrain solutions for heavy-duty applications including on-highway tractor-trailers and buses.
