At the recent Dot power platform demo day in Arizona, Ann Schmelzer, Cummins’ General Manager for Global Agriculture caught up with Grainews about how Cummins is powering futuristic and autonomous farming applications. 

The tools, which allow experts to remotely see what technicians see in the field, were created by the Cummins Care team in 2017, prior to the COVID-19 crisis, to support customers in hard-to-reach locations. Now, with travel discouraged to prevent the spread of the virus, the use of RemoteConnect has increased dramatically, making the tools more important than ever.

After his passing in 2016, his wife Nancy and daughters Nancy Jo and Natalee have continued his legacy of integrity by devoting themselves to learning the ins and outs of business ownership, generator installs and maintenance, and relationship building. 

Though the title may seem quite grand, the total surface area of the union is just 12 square miles. Ten of the islands are inhabited. One received a visit from a Cummins Sales and Service technician during the COVID-19 pandemic he won’t soon forget.  Kiltan is a coral island in the archipelago with a population just under 4,000. The island used to be part of an international trade route supplying fish and coconuts, but its economy has expanded to include government jobs, such as education, law enforcement, and transportation.

The Cummins Sales and Service Kamloops branch recently sponsored truck driver meals from a local food truck, Cookshack Cravings, as part of the Meals for Truckers initiative at Chevron Cardlock in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.
