Cummins Engineering Manager Addresses Brigham Young University’s Chapter of Society of Women Engineers

On October 6, 2016, Cummins Engineering Manager, Katie Clingenpeel, addressed a group of approximately 50 female engineering students, all part of the Brigham Young University (BYU) chapter of Society of Women Engineers (SWE), during a mentoring lunch located in Provo, Utah.

Katie explained how her own experience of seeing the financial struggles of another family when the husband unexpectedly died impressed upon her the importance of getting a degree and preparing for a career that would enable her to support her family, which ultimately led her into engineering.

Cummins Sees Increase in Three Key Community Involvement Metrics

Participation increased in several key metrics in 2014 for community service programs at Cummins as employees worked to build stronger communities all over the world.

Involvement was up 18 percent in the Company’s Environmental Challenge, five percent in Cummins’ Every Employee Every Community (EEEC) program and employee giving was up about four percent for the United Way in North America – all key performance indicators for community engagement at the Company.

7 Cummins Employees Win Dr. Julius Perr Award

Recently, Cummins honored seven of its employees with the Company's highest technical award for their work on two inventions.Mark D. Akins, Bryan W. Milburn, Dennis M. King and Greg M. Pataky were recognized for their work to improve turbocharger technology on Cummins’ midrange engines.Steven M. Bellinger, Brian C. Tyler and John F. Kalill received the 2012 Perr Award for developing a system and method for estimating vehicle mass, which enabled Load Based Speed Control (LBSC).
