Our Journey: Technical Women’s Initiative

“Can you do a project to look at barriers and enablers to have more women in the engineering function?” That was the question posed to Anne McLaren and other Cummins engineers dedicated to improving the representation of technical women at Cummins.

That project led to the Cummins Technical Women’s Initiative, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2017. The goals of this initiative are to attract, develop, and retain technical women at all levels and in all regions, and to have technical women equally represented across all levels of leadership.

Cummins Inc, a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service diesel engines and related technologies, has signed-up a group of women identified as prospective business leaders of the future to An Inspirational Journey's Pearls programme. The Pearls programme is an initiative that already reaches out to more than 4,000 women from a multitude of sectors and regions across the UK, and comprises of women who have been identified as future business leaders.

Cummins ranked No. 21 on the 2017 annual list, which included more than 1,000 participating companies.

Cummins Makes Ethical Companies List for a 10th Year
