When Cummins authorized distributor Orient Energy Systems (OES) was approached by a new customer, Ahmad Jamal Textile Mills, the customer came with a requirement of 50 kVA for their home’s power needs and 200 kVA for their manufacturing unit. After meeting with the customer, OES brought in their in-house expert to evaluate the load. The application and project engineer determined that the load in fact required 100 kVA of power for the house and 160 kVA for the manufacturing operations.
In Milan, the new 50-story Allianz Tower required cutting-edge design along with protection against power grid blackouts. Cummins Italy was brought in during the build-out to review layout and technical data, specifying the clean and quiet C2250 D5 generator with additional accessories to set the standard. In fact, the Cummins Italy team intricately adjusted the generator placement based on the tower’s design to hit a mandated 55 dB noise output, a noise level required for residential installations that is quieter than a conversation.

The ever-increasing interest in alternative fuels continues to prompt questions as to what the future of transport will look like and how this will shape our world. Speaking at the 2019 Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit in New York, New York, Julie Furber, Vice President - Electrified Power at Cummins, shared her thoughts on the impact electrification has had in industrial and commercial vehicle markets. Although Furber can’t see into the future, she can share how Cummins is preparing itself for the changes ahead:
Cummins engineers, using 3D printing and computerized tomography scanning, created a new water pump for the car, which will return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway later this month after setting a one-lap track record of 139 miles per hour in qualifying for the pole position in the 1952 race.
“Without 3D printing, we would not have gotten this project done in the time frame that we had to do it,” said John Rupp, Advanced Manufacturing Technical Advisor at the Cummins Technical Center in Columbus, Indiana (U.S.).

To be an accomplished diving master in Thailand with access to both the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand would be about as good as it gets. But it is one huge step up the joy register to own your own diving support vessel. This is especially true if you can also accommodate 30 fellow divers and a supportive crew of eight to cater to the divers’ needs and navigate the vessel.
