The partnership, which also includes Peloton Technology, Peterbilt Motors Company, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Next-Generation Energy Technologies for Connected and Autonomous On-Road Vehicles program, also known as NEXTCAR.

Statue of Liberty
For more than 130 years the Statue of Liberty has been welcoming visitors to New York City from Liberty Island in New York Harbor. Today, Cummins technology provides reliable ancillary power for this American landmark, which clicked on when the island suffered a power outage March 7, 2017.
Cummins’ successful Energy Champions initiative, which trained employees to look for ways to save energy in plants, facilities and offices, is evolving into the company’s Environmental Champions program.
“We wanted sites to have a holistic view when reviewing facility projects, not just look through the lens of one media like energy,” said Nichole Morris, Environmental Manager and Cummins’ Water Program leader. “This way, you look at the benefits and the disadvantages of a project with the media of water, waste and energy in mind.”
For three years in a row, more than 70 percent of Cummins employees have participated in the company’s Every Employee Every Community (EEEC) program, investing more than 400,000 hours in 2016 alone to build stronger communities around the world.
These Cummins employees have each taken the UN's #HeForShe pledge, joining over 1.3 million individuals who are taking action to create a gender-equal world. We'll feature one profile a day starting Monday, March 6, 2017 through Friday, March 10, 2017.
