As a founding member of the new Hydrogen Forward initiative, Cummins is partnering with other energy leaders to advocate for the advancement and adoption of hydrogen technology across the U.S. Cummins has been hard at work building relationships with other leaders in the hydrogen space in order to push hydrogen forward as an energy solution. The latest of these efforts is the newly-formed Hydrogen Forward initiative.

During the virtual 2021 NTEA Work Truck Show, Hino Trucks announced their intent to produce medium- and heavy-duty Hino trucks with Cummins engines for sale in North America. As a result of this announcement, Hino intends to offer Cummins B6.7™ and L9™ engines in Hino’s L and XL Series models by the end of 2021.

Vice Chairman Tony Satterthwaite testified that advanced internal combustion engines can achieve immediate reductions in air pollutants and carbon emissions while the infrastructure and manufacturing scale develops for low-carbon technologies like battery and fuel cell electric powertrains.

That might sound odd, but Fier told participants at last week’s virtual Work Truck Week 2021 (March 8-12), a celebration of the commercial truck industry, that he finds inspiration looking back as he looks forward to the challenge in achieving the carbon-neutral future envisioned in PLANET 2050, Cummins’ environmental sustainability strategy.
