We are a global leader in the design and manufacture of precision-forged gears. Used in a majority of Class 5 through Class 8 commercial vehicles manufactured in North America and worldwide, we offer gear solutions for a range of demanding applications including linehaul, bus and coach, logging, fire and emergency, military, construction and mining.
Our customers enjoy economies of scale and have modular designs that are produced using our customized processes. Our net-shaped gear teeth offer significant advantages over cut-tooth gears, such as:
Meritor XTended Lube Driveline (MXL) offers extended lubrication intervals to reduce operating costs and extend the life of linehaul and city delivery applications. Built with a steel shroud and seal design, the MXL series is more robust than competitive products. It is compatible with industry-standard yokes for improved parts availability and flexibility for aftermarket conversion.
We are pleased to introduce two new medium-duty drivelines to its Permalube RPL driveline family. The RPL10 and RPL14 are the first medium-duty (Class 6-7) entries in our Permalube RPL driveline lineup and are permanently lubricated and sealed for life. Based on industry-leading technology, the new drivelines are engineered specifically for medium-duty applications including refuse, city delivery, transit bus and school bus, and offer benefits such as increased uptime and reduced operating costs.
The Permalube RPL Series driveline was first in the North American heavy-duty commercial vehicle industry to be permanently lubricated and sealed for life to reduce maintenance and save money for cost conscience fleets. Advantages include reduced operating and maintenance costs, industry-leading warranties, easy serviceability and extended U-joint life, particularly on gear-fast/run-slow drivetrains and higher torque applications. Designed to accommodate linehaul, heavy service and downspeeding, these drivelines fit a wide range of applications and torque handling requirements.
Our gearboxes, split-shaft power take-off units, creeper drives and power dividers are especially suited for severe-duty, high-mobility, high-torque, all-wheel drive configurations for a broad range of applications, including:
Construction and utility
Defense and military
Heavy haul
Severe service
Fire and rescue
Agriculture
Rail car
For more than 20 years, we have reduced industry concerns with tire pressure loss. Equipped on more than 1 million trailers, Meritor Tire Inflation System (MTIS) helps keep tires properly inflated to reduce wear and increase fuel economy. Standard ThermALERT wheel-end heat-sensing technology immediately alerts drivers to overheating wheel-ends so that drivers can take preventive action to avoid damage. MTIS can be installed on all major trailer axle models in North America.
Advanced technology in the MTA trailer suspension system sets new standards in ride, handling, tire life and durability. Exhaustive modeling, analysis and prototyping have led to an innovative structure and manufacturing process which has been validated in the laboratory, on independent proving grounds and in real-world applications. The result is a suspension system that meets the needs of North America’s demanding vocational market. Three top-mount models ranging from 23,000-lb. to 30,000-lb. capacities and two recently introduced low-mount models in 25,000-lb. and 30,000-lb.
Meet our lightest-weight trailer suspension. With weight savings, structural design advantages and advanced features, MTA-Tec6 is engineered to deliver next-generation productivity from the proven MTA™ suspension family. MTA-Tec6 offers both fuel savings and expanded payload capacity while reducing total cost of ownership and is backed by over 100 years of leadership in design, engineering and manufacturing across a broad range of vocational applications.
The ProTec Independent Front Suspension (IFS) is based on the field-proven technology of the industry-leading ProTec series of independent suspensions and beam axles. Purpose-built for the most demanding applications and backed by our extensive heritage of delivering innovative on-highway, off-highway and specialty vehicle solutions for more than a century, the ProTec IFS is our answer to the suspension requirements of the motorcoach industry.
